U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, June 13 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.53 percent to 105.196 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.0739 U.S. dollars from 1.0812 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.2764 U.S. dollars from 1.2813 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 156.90 Japanese yen, higher than 156.61 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8940 Swiss francs from 0.8941 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3742 Canadian dollars from 1.3717 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar added to 10.4720 Swedish kronor from 10.3621 Swedish kronor.
