A 17-second video circulating on social media shows a white sedan crossing a road divider and driving against oncoming traffic along Jalan Kuala Kangsar in Ipoh before eventually crashing.
The clip, which spread rapidly online, shows several vehicles swerving to avoid the car as it continued moving in the wrong direction with smoke billowing from underneath.
But was a car really caught on video climbing a divider to drive against traffic in Ipoh?

A white sedan was caught on video crossing a road divider and driving against traffic along Jalan Kuala Kangsar in Ipoh on Thursday (Sept 24) at about 11am.
The 17-second clip was uploaded on Threads and showed the sedan speeding away while being followed by a police motorcycle.
Several vehicles were seen trying to avoid the car after it crossed the divider and continued driving against traffic.
Smoke was seen billowing from underneath the vehicle before it crashed into a central divider near a traffic light junction.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah confirmed the incident and said the suspect is believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run incident involving a policeman.
"We are still investigating the matter," said ACP Muhammad Najib.
