QuickCheck: Did a car crash into a petrol station in Keningau?

A social media post has gone viral, supposedly showing an incident where a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) crashed into fuel pumps at a petrol station in interior Keningau earlier on Sunday (April 5) afternoon. Did this incident really happen?

VERDICT:

TRUE

According to police, the 73-yearold driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the petrol kiosk pumps shortly after he refilled his vehicle at about 1.20pm.

Keningau OCPD Supt Yampil Anak Garai said the petrol pump and the car were damaged after the driver lost control and hit the pumps before colliding with the rear side of a four-wheel drive vehicle at the parked station.

The car driver apparently suffered dizziness and was sent to Keningau Hospital for further treatment, while the other driver was unhurt,” he said.
