QuickCheck: Is Putrajaya Corporation involved in an upcoming 'P. Ramlee festival'?

Obtaining celebrity endorsements is a good way to drum up enthusiasm for an event.

However, this isn't always a good thing – especially if permission has not been obtained beforehand.

So is it true that Putrajaya Corporation is involved in a "Moreh P. Ramlee" festival?

Verdict:

FALSE

Putrajaya Corporation has denied any links to the Moreh P. Ramlee festival taking place in the nation's administrative capital from Feb 25 to March 10, as claimed on social media.

In a statement, Putrajaya Corporation said that any event in Putrajaya must obtain approval from its event approval committee and that the use of its logo is not permitted without its explicit permission.

It added that the procedure is designed to ensure that all events in Putrajaya comply with regulations that guarantee public safety and maintain the corporation's public image.
