THERE'S a great sense of pride in owning and driving a high-performance car. Occasionally, such pride goes a little too far.
A video went viral recently, where the driver of a Ferrari displayed how NOT to behave on the road.
Did the road rage incident as portrayed actually happen?
Verdict:
TRUE
The road rage incident did occur, and the individual involved has since been identified by his employer and even suspended from work!
In the viral dashcam footage, a car where the footage was from is being driven in Subang Jaya.
A man wearing a black T-shirt and blue trousers can be seen standing in the middle of the road and the driver honks at him.
While the driver tried to explain why he honked, the man seems offended and hurls offensive words at the driver before getting into his car, a Ferrari.
The video captures the Ferrari overtaking the car, and brake checking the other car, stopping abruptly in the middle of the road.
The Ferrari driver gets out and approaches the car, prompting the other driver to swerve away and leave the scene.
After the video went viral, streetwear fashion brand Stoned & Co. announced that the Ferrari driver involved was one of its employees and that it had suspended him from all duties with immediate effect.
In a statement, the company said the behaviour shown in the video did not reflect its values, culture or professional standards.
"The individual involved has been suspended from all duties effective immediately, pending the outcome of internal investigations and reviews," it said on Monday (Jan 12).
The company also said it would cooperate with any relevant parties should further clarification be required, and called for space and fairness while due process takes place.
Separately, the Ferrari driver issued a personal public apology, taking full responsibility for his actions.
