WHEN neighbours hear suspicious sounds in the dead of night, swift action can make all the difference.
A video showing police apprehending two suspects trapped on the second floor of a house has gone viral on social media, capturing the dramatic end to an attempted break-in.
But did police really manage to foil a burglary in progress in Klang?
Verdict:
TRUE
Police successfully thwarted an attempted break-in at a home in Taman Eng Ann, Klang, in the early ours of Friday (Jan 2) following a swift response to a neighbour's call.
North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said in a statement today that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday.
According to ACP Vijaya, a police patrol arrived at the Jalan Pekan Baru home after a neighbour had complained that they had heard strange noises.
"Following information gathered, the responding police team rushed to the area and successfully arrested two local suspects who had tried to flee via the back door. Both suspects have been remanded for five days until Jan 6," he said.
He said preliminary investigations found the suspects were aged between 30 and 40 and were believed to have been actively committing such crimes since early 2025.
A check also found that one of the suspects had two criminal and drug records, he added.
"The suspects' modus operandi is to target houses that are left empty and unoccupied," he said.
He also advised the public not to make any speculation as the case is still under investigation and firm action has been taken.
