A TENSE 37-second video went viral on social media showing a heated dispute between two drivers on the roadside of Jalan Sungai Derhaka in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
The dramatic footage showed one of the men brandishing what appeared to be a hockey stick during the confrontation, leaving viewers alarmed at how quickly a traffic dispute could escalate into a potentially dangerous situation.

Two men have been remanded for four days following an altercation on the roadside of Jalan Sungai Derhaka in Bukit Mertajam, a recording of which went viral on social media.
Central Seberang Perai OCPS ACP Helmi Aris said his team detected the viral video and confirmed that two police reports were lodged by the individuals involved, with two investigation papers opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Further investigations revealed that the incident occurred on Dec 25, sparked by a misunderstanding between two drivers which led to a verbal dispute and subsequent criminal intimidation.
"One of the men acted aggressively by brandishing a hockey stick; however, no injuries were reported, and both men have been detained," he said in a statement.
The remand for the two men, aged 27 and 44, was granted until Dec 31 for further investigation.
He advised the public to remain courteous on the road and to avoid acting on emotions, which could endanger themselves and other road users.
The incident is believed to have started when the Perodua Myvi driver allegedly made a sudden U-turn, causing dissatisfaction for the Proton Exora driver.
Both parties initially stopped their vehicles and reached a brief reconciliation.
However, the Perodua Myvi driver reportedly asked the Proton Exora driver to stop a second time, which triggered the recorded confrontation.
