QuickCheck: Is there a fake list claiming certain job contracts are subject to new stamp duty requirements?

In June this year, the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) announced that all employment contracts between employers and employees must be stamped with effect from Jan 1 next year. However, is there a fake list of 40 employment contracts making its round on social media?

Verdict:

TRUE

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has posted on its official Facebook page that a circulated list claiming certain employment documents are subject to stamp duty as of Dec 24, 2025 is false.

It urged the public to disregard the fake list entitled “LHDN final confirmation on stamp duty requirements for employment-related documents” to avoid confusion.
