QuickCheck: Will the price of the My50 unlimited travel pass increase in January?


RECENTLY, Prasarana announced that it is revising the pricing of some of its popular travel passes and introducing a few new ones.

One of their most popular travel passes is the My50, which provides 30 days of unlimited rides on Rapid KL rail and bus services for just RM50.

The My50 unlimited monthly travel pass will remain priced at RM50 and is for Malaysians only, according to Prasarana.

An infographic shared on MyRapidKL's social media accounts confirmed that there will be no price changes for this pass, despite adjustments to other passes, including the one-day pass (RM10) and three-day pass (RM25) for Malaysians, effective Jan 1, 2026

In addition to the My50 pass, the Rapid Emas and Rapid Mesra passes will also see no price revisions.

This confusion was sparked by the introduction of a new RM150 monthly travel pass, which offers the same services for the same duration but is also available for non-Malaysians.

Along with the new prices for daily and three-day passes for Malaysians, the Rapid Kembara day pass for tourists will now cost RM25, while a three-day pass will be priced at RM55. The Rapid Keluarga pass, also exclusively for Malaysians, will be available at RM30.

For the Rapid Pelajar pass, a concession discount card will now be available exclusively for Malaysian students, with new applications opening on Jan 1 next year. Foreign students with existing passes will be eligible for a 50% discount until the expiration of their pass or until December 31, 2026, whichever comes first.
