Verdict:
TRUE
An investigation is underway into a viral video showing a trailer carrying a helicopter on a public road, which caused traffic congestion recently, Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said.
He said police received a report regarding the video at 8.06pm on Friday (Dec 13).
Wan Azlan said preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred at 4.30pm on Dec 4, when a trailer carrying a helicopter could not pass a slip road from the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) heading towards Persiaran Kewajipan, Subang Jaya.
"The excessive length of the trailer's load caused it to get stuck, causing traffic congestion and disrupting other road users," he said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 13), adding that an ambulance was also held up by the congestion.
He said the police have yet to identify the vehicle's registration number, and an investigation paper has been opened.
He also urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Investigating Officer of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at Subang Jaya Police District Headquarters, Insp Mohd Azizul Hakim Roslan at 011-289 14495 to assist the investigation.
The incident highlights the challenges of transporting oversized loads on public roads and the importance of proper route planning.
The blockage of an ambulance raised additional safety concerns about the impact of such incidents on emergency services.
