ADVERTISEMENTS offering free driving licences without tests have appeared on TikTok, featuring images of high-ranking Transport Ministry officials.
The claims suggested that individuals could obtain their driving licences through these unauthorised channels.
Have scammers misused the image of senior Transport Ministry officials?
Verdict:

TRUE
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has confirmed that scammers have misused images of senior Transport Ministry officials, including secretary-general Datuk Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan, in fake TikTok advertisements offering free driving licences without tests.
In a statement today, JPJ said the advertisements and the accounts promoting such offers are fake and have no connection with the department.
The department noted that irresponsible parties were using official images to mislead the public.
"Members of the public are advised not to be deceived by unauthorised advertisements or accounts to avoid confusion and losses," JPJ said.
The scam involves fraudulent claims that people can obtain driving licences without having to take the required tests.
These fake advertisements exploit the credibility of government officials by using their images without permission.
JPJ urged the public to verify suspicious offers directly with the department.
Complaints can be submitted via the JPJ Official Complaint Portal at https://jpj.spab.gov.my.
The department emphasised that all legitimate driving licence applications must go through proper channels and include the required testing procedures.
Members of the public are reminded to be vigilant against such scams and to report any suspicious advertisements claiming to offer government services.
