The footage captured a group of youths engaged in a fight that allegedly started over a minor physical contact.

Police have arrested 11 youths aged between 16 and 25 over an armed brawl at the Miri Waterfront early on Sunday (Nov 2) morning.

The arrests followed a one-minute video that went viral on social media showing the fight, which allegedly broke out after two men shoulder-checked each other.

Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the fight, which occurred at around 2.05am, left a local man injured.

"The victim received treatment at the General Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition," he said in a statement on Monday (Nov 3).

He said various types of weapons were also seized by police as case material.

Investigations are being conducted under Section 324/148 of the Penal Code for using deadly weapons in a riot.

The incident has raised concerns about youth violence and public safety in the area.

The viral nature of the video helped authorities identify those involved in the brawl.
