VERDICT:

TRUE

An insurance agent driving a car crashed into five other vehicles after mistakenly stepping on the accelerator at Jalan Kuning, Taman Pelangi on Thursday (Oct 16) morning.

Johor Bahru South police chief ACP Raub Selamat said the accident occurred at 9.14am when the 49-year-old woman drove from Jalan Pingai towards the Jalan Kuning intersection.

He said that as she approached the intersection she pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes, causing the car to skid and crash into five cars parked in front of shop lots.

No injuries were reported and the woman tested negative for alcohol, he said.

The case was being investigated under Road Transport Regulations 10(1) LN 166/59.

Earlier, a one-minute video went viral on social media showing several damaged cars with a small car mounted on top of another vehicle.
