Scammers are everywhere nowadays. These nasty tricksters are in your emails, text messages and social media, trying every trick in the book to steal your hard earned cash.

Luckily, they are only confined to the digital world. It's not like their are sending you snail mail as the latest tactic to fool you, are they?

VERDICT:

TRUE

According to Sarawak Tribune, scammers are now sending fake court documents to households, complete with seals and official-looking details, to trick victims into calling fraudulent phone numbers.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chairman Milton Foo said the tactic marks a recent trend, as scammers previously relied on calls or messages through WhatsApp, Facebook or Telegram.

Foo reminded the public that courts never send orders directly.

“Court orders are always issued through the plaintiff’s lawyer. Never call the numbers stated in suspicious letters. Verify them at official counters or seek legal advice”, he said.
