Verdict:

TRUE

An accident involving four cars, including three luxury sports cars, took place along the Pasir Gudang Highway in Johor on the lane heading towards Skudai at about 3.35pm on Sept 6.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said a 41-year-old man lost control of his luxury sports car on the right lane from Johor Jaya towards Skudai and rammed into the rear of another car driven by a 50-year-old man.

"The impact of the accident has caused a pile up involving two other luxury sports cars driven by a 35-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man respectively," said ACP Raub.

He said none of the drivers sustained injuries and only the front and rear sections of the vehicles were damaged.

He said the accident was caused by the failure of the first sports car driver to control his vehicle, which led to the chain collision.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.

"At the time of the incident, a verbal altercation also broke out among the drivers but was settled amicably among them," said ACP Raub.

"I advise all road users to drive carefully, avoid rushing and obey traffic rules to reduce the risk of accidents," said ACP Raub.

He said legal action will be taken against any motorists who flout the law and endanger road safety.

A 19-second video of the incident went viral on Facebook, garnering 67,000 views, and showed several people arguing alongside the collision along the Pasir Gudang Highway.
