IN A startling incident that quickly went viral, CCTV footage captured an armed man robbing a house in Bandar Perdana, Sungai Petani.
The footage circulated widely on social media, raising questions and concern.

A housewife in Bandar Perdana, Sungai Petani, experienced a frightening encounter when her home was invaded by an unknown man while she was hanging clothes to dry around 7.30am on a Tuesday (Sept 2).
The incident was caught on CCTV, and the footage, which shows the suspect jumping over a wall to enter the premises, quickly spread on social media.
The victim was so shocked to see the suspect enter her property that she didn't manage to lock her door in time to stop the suspect, who was armed, from barging into the house.
The suspect then escaped with stolen cash and a handphone.
However, within 24 hours of the video going viral, police released a statement that they had already apprehended the suspect.
Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Hanyan Ramlan, confirmed the arrest of the 21-year-old man at 12.30am on Wednesday (Sept 3) in Taman Sidam Kiri, near a local eatery.
"We have detained the suspect and seized several items for further investigation," said ACP Hanyan.
The suspect, who is unemployed, tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
During the arrest, police seized several items, including a mobile phone, a knife, and a car suspected to have been used in the crime.
ACP Hanyan emphasised, "This is a serious offence, and we urge anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation."
This incident serves as a cautionary tale of the unexpected dangers that can occur during everyday activities, even in the perceived safety of one’s home.
