IN July, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that all Malaysians aged 18 and above would receive RM100 in credit through their MyKad starting on National Day (Aug 31).
He said that the aid was an expansion of the Sumbangan Asas Rahman (Sara) initiative.
However, a message circulating on WhatsApp states that Malaysians would receive RM1,000 in cash in conjunction with National Day instead.
Is the claim true?

According to MyCheck, the viral message was a clickbait tactic to lure people into clicking on the link by tempting victims with free RM1,000, simply for answering a straightforward question.
The website in the message links to does not end with gov.my, which all official government websites uses.
Additionally, there are no words or logos that indicate the message source is from a government agency.
The page asks victims to enter their nationality, gender and age, however the word choice for the form is strange.
Instead of using the word 'lelaki' for male, the form use the more colloquial word "jantan".
The site then directs victims to advertising sites where the person who set up the site receives a commission for every click or purchase made.
