ANY incidences of electricity disruptions are bound to spread like wildfire. Recently, it was claimed on social media that a TNB substation in Gunung Tebu in Besut had exploded, resulting in a power cut in the Terengganu town. Did such an incident really happen?

TNB has dismissed the viral post of an explosion at an electricity substation at Gunung Tebu as fake.

“There is no such substation in Gunung Tebu, hence no such incident took place.

“We urge the public not to spread unverified information that can cause anxiety among the community,” it said in its official Facebook page.
