Recently, a video of a p-hailing rider stealing from another motorcyclist appearing to be from the same company went viral along with the claim that it happened at a petrol station in Negri Sembilan.

Is this true?

VERDICT:

TRUE

This was confirmed in a statement by Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Hatta Che Din, who said that a report was lodged by a p-hailing driver at 8:17pm on Wednesday (Nov 6) that a bag had been stolen from his motorcycle at a petrol station at Citypark, Seremban 2.

He said that the investigation showed that the suspect is another p-hailing rider who took the bag and fled, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft."

"On Friday (Nov 8), the suspect was arrested, and the victim's bag was found and returned."
