QuickCheck: Was a teenager injured in a fight in Seremban?


Fights are always highly dramatic events, especially if they happen in a public space. As such, it is highly likely that any video of these events would go viral if shared online.

Recently, a video of a person being beaten by several individuals - some of them using plastic chairs - went viral online, along with the claim that it happened in Seremban.

Is this true?

VERDICT:

TRUE

Yes, such an attack happened and it was confirmed by Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din.

He said in a statement that the incident happened at around 11pm at a restaurant along Jalan Tok Ungku.

"The incident began with an argument about personal issues, and it led to a male teenager being injured due to a beating," said ACP Mohamad Hatta.

He added that two suspects have been identified and that efforts are underway to track them down and arrest them.

"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code," he added.
