Verdict:

FALSE

In a statement, the Finance Ministry warned the public to be wary of calls claiming to be from its Rahmah Cash Aid (STR) or Rahmah Basic Donation (Sara) lines asking for large sums of money.

"The Finance Ministry does not allow any third party to use the ministry's official phone number.

"Ministry officers are also not allowed to collect payments from the public for any purpose," it said in a statement on Friday (May 10).
