DEALING with inheritance matters can be complex – more so when it involves a government department which deals with land titles or similar.

Recently, there have been claims that the Land and Mines Department has appointed third parties to deal with applications to its estate distribution section (bahagian pembahagian pusaka).

However, is this really the case?

In a pop-up notice on its website, the Land and Mines Department said it had never appointed a third party to handle inheritance matters.

The department also called on customers to deal directly with its estate distribution section located at its main or state headquarters instead of going through a third party.
