IPOH: Police here have confirmed receiving a report regarding an incident in which a driver was allegedly threatened with a stick along Jalan Ipoh-Gopeng in Simpang Pulai on Wednesday (Sept 16).
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the incident, which had gone viral on social media, occurred at about 4.56pm when the victim claimed that his vehicle was forced to the side by another car, resulting in a confrontation after the victim had honked.
ACP Muhammad Najib said one of the two men who got out of the car allegedly carried and pointed a stick at the victim’s brother.
“The incident was also captured on a dashcam.
“The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code, and efforts are underway to trace the individuals involved,” he said.
He advised all road users to drive carefully, remain in control of their emotions and refrain from acting aggressively when faced with any confrontation on the road.
