A RECENT viral post on social media claims that all Malaysians will be getting RM750 in cash aid from the Social Welfare Department (SWD).

Is it true that RM750 will be given out as cash aid by the SWD?

In a post on its Facebook page, the SWD said that the social media post was fake news.

"The information on 'Financial Assistance RM750' spreading on social media site is FAKE," the department said in its post on Thursday (July 27).

It added that the people are advised to get accurate information about SWD assistance from its official portal and social media channels only.

It also urged the public to visit www.jkm.gov.my for more information.

"Remember, not sure, do not share," SWD said in its post.
