RECENTLY there has been a profusion of posts about 'government aid' being announced and shared on social media. While it is true that the government has channelled various forms of cash aid to the public since the announcement of Budget 2023, some of these posts seem highly suspect as they do not seem to be backed by any formal announcements through traditional media. Lately, there was a post announcing that the Social Welfare Department (SWD) was handing out RM350 in cash aid to recipients in the B40 group.
