Indonesia records 689 new confirmed Covid-19 cases

JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): The Health Ministry announced 689 new confirmed Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (May 3), bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 15,438.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 21 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 1,028.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 3,287.

The capital city recorded 183 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 5,554. Meanwhile, East Java reported 103 new cases, Southeast Sulawesi 91, South Sulawesi 55, and South Sumatra 43.
