Fourth day in a row with no new Covid-19 case in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei Darussalam marked four continuous days without new Covid-19 cases on Monday (May 11). The total number of Covid-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141.

Following the contact tracing for Cases 139,140 and 141,114 contacts have undergone the SARS-CoV-2 testing, and all have tested negative.

Minister of Health Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar shared the Covid-19 updates at the daily press conference at the Health Ministry on Monday.

The minister said, “Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah the Almighty, there are no new Covid-19 cases in the country. Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141.”

He explained that no recoveries were reported on Monday. Therefore, the total number of cases recovered remains at 134. This brings the number of active cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) to six, where two are still in critical condition.

One still requires heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance, and the other only requires respiratory assistance. The rest are in a stable condition.

Dr Mohd Isham provided updates on people under quarantine and on those who have completed quarantine.

He said, “108 individuals are currently undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) and 2,575 individuals have completed their quarantine.” - Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network
