Vietnam's plastic import volume up 10.5 per cent in 4 months


HANOI (Xinhua): Vietnam imported nearly 2.2 million tonnes of plastic worth over US$2.8 billion in the first four months of this year, posting a year-on-year rise of 10.5 per cent in volume and decrease of 1.4 per cent in value, according to its Ministry of Industry and Trade on Thursday (May 7).

Between January and April, the country spent nearly $2.3 billion importing plastic products, up 14.6 per cent from the same period last year, and gained over $1.1 billion from exporting plastic products, up 1.3 per cent year-on-year, according to the ministry.
