Vietnamese support closing of wildlife markets, WWF survey finds

HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): There is strong support among the Vietnamese public for addressing the root causes of Covid-19 and potential future novel zoonotic disease outbreaks caused by illegal wildlife hunting, trade and consumption, a World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) survey found.

About 90 per cent of 1,000 Vietnamese people who responded to the survey last month said they were very likely or likely to support efforts by governments and relevant ministries to close all illegal and unregulated markets and restaurants that sell wildlife.
