YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar's Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce will allow 34 more export and import items for the online licensing system with a total of 455 Harmonized System codes starting from April 9, state-run media reported Wednesday (April 8).
The items include animal feed supplement, vegetable cooking oil, coffee, cement, bird's nest, diesel oil, lubricant, medicines, herbal medicines, vet medicines, fertilisers, fancy accessories, electric motor and generator, motorcycle, bicycle, medical equipment, milk powder, human hair, tyre, fire extinguishers, printed books, spray guns and others.
The Commerce Ministry has launched the online licensing system for export and import businesses where the licence application process, fee payment and receiving licences can be done online since April 1 so as to lessen the person-to-person contact and mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
From April 1 to 6,298 export and import licences applications worth US$100 million have been approved through the online system, according to the Commerce Ministry. - Xinhua
