Brunei reports no new cases of Covid-19

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei reported no new cases of the Covid-19 during the weekend, the first time since the first case was detected in the sultanate on March 9.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health on Monday (April 6), the total number of Covid-19 cases in Brunei remained at 135.

"However, the spread of the Covid-19 infection has not ended and we must continue to abide by all the precautionary measures to further reduce the risk of spreading the infection."

Seven more patients have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 73.

Three patients are still in a critical condition on ventilators, while one of them requires Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) assistance.

The rest are in a stable condition, according to the ministry.

The ministry added that so far 280 individuals were still undergoing quarantine and 2,065 people have completed the quarantine period. Some 8,129 laboratory tests for Covid-19 have been conducted. - Xinhua/Asian News Network
