Death toll from Covid-19 passes 60,000 worldwide, cases exceed 1.1 million

NEW YORK: The death toll from COVID-19 exceeded 60,000 worldwide by 9am local time on Saturday (1300 GMT), according to the Centrefor Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The fatalities reached 60,115 as a total of 1,134,418 cases were reported worldwide, an interactive map maintained by the CSSE showed. - Xinhua/Asian News Network
