Vietnam to temporarily ban all foreigners from entering country (update)

HANOI: Vietnam will temporarily ban all foreigners, except for entrants on diplomatic or official purposes or other special cases permitted, from entering the country from 12am Sunday local time in a bid to control the COVID-19 outbreak, the Vietnamese government announced on Saturday (March 21) night.

Those entering the country on "diplomatic and special purposes" will be subject to quarantine and approval from the ministries of police, health and foreign affairs, the government said in a statement on Saturday.
