THE Opposition is demanding details of the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) signed by 13 Opposition MPs on Oct 31, particularly the amount of allocations involved, how the funds will be disbursed and how the agreement will be implemented.
Perikatan Nasional chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the details were necessary to ensure greater transparency and accountability, especially as the remaining 62 Opposition MPs had not accepted the CSA offer.
He said a similar approach had been adopted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Political Transformation and Stability signed between the Federal Government and Pakatan Harapan in September 2021.
“The MOU signed on Sept 13, 2021, clearly stipulated that its contents should be fully disclosed to the public as a commitment to openness.
“Clause 6 of the MOU stated that there would be no confidentiality and that the parties agreed to fully disclose the memorandum to the public as a commitment to complete transparency and accountability.
“I still remember that after the MOU was signed, we immediately made it public.
“So, we would like to know whether the CSA signed on Oct 31 has also been made available to the public,” he said during a press conference at Parliament yesterday.
Takiyuddin said the arrangement differed from the draft MOU on opposition allocations presented by the government on Aug 1, 2024, which did not specify the amount of funding to be provided.
