Two men arrested with over RM5,000 worth of yaba pills

GUA MUSANG: Two local men were arrested after police seized 53.2 grams of pills suspected to be yaba during a raid on a hut at Dusun RKT Kesedar Meranto here on Thursday (Oct 22) morning.

Gua Musang OCPD Supt Sik Choon Foo said the raid, conducted under Ops Tapis at 12.15am, involved a team of officers and personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Gua Musang District Police Headquarters.

He said the two suspects, aged 36 and 39, were arrested on the second floor of the hut.

A search uncovered an orange sling bag containing a metal container and several plastic packets of pills suspected to be yaba, with an estimated value of RM5,320, said Supt Sik.

"Initial urine screening tests from both men returned positive for methamphetamine.

“A check found that the 39-year-old suspect had a record of five previous drug-related offences, while the other had one previous record for a similar offence,” he added in a statement.

Supt Sik said the case was being investigated under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Further investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the drug supply and identify other individuals involved. – Bernama
