PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (JPJ) collected RM376,091 through its JPJvBID Public Auction of Seized Vehicles No. 2/2026.
Kuala Lumpur JPJ director Hamidi Adam said the auction, which ended at 8pm last Friday (Oct 16), involved 157 vehicles.
He said the auction recorded an encouraging performance, with 120 vehicles successfully sold, representing more than 76% of the total offered, while the remaining 37 vehicles did not receive successful bids.
"The public auction also received an overwhelming response, with 95 bidders participating," he said in a statement on Monday (Oct 19).
Hamidi said the sale of 693 e-Catalogue units generated RM34,650, while auction fees amounted to RM7,400 from 740 fee payment transactions recorded throughout the auction period.
"The highest bid recorded was RM73,333 for a multi-purpose vehicle, while the lowest was RM101 for a scrap vehicle," he said.
He said the statistics reflected the diverse values of the vehicles offered and the public's continued interest in JPJ's public auction platform.
"The successful organisation of this auction demonstrates the effectiveness of the JPJvBID system as a transparent, efficient and accessible digital auction platform.
"This digitalisation initiative not only streamlines the management of seized vehicles but also helps increase government revenue through a more systematic, transparent and competitive process," he said.
Hamidi expressed his appreciation to all bidders, the secretariat and everyone directly or indirectly involved in the successful implementation of the auction.
He said JPJ would remain committed to strengthening its service delivery to ensure greater efficiency, transparency and customer focus, in line with the public service's digital transformation aspirations.
