PKR set to contest nine seats

JOHOR BARU: PKR will contest nine seats in the upcoming Melaka election, says Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh.

The PKR secretary-general said Pakatan Harapan has “more or less” finalised its list of candidates at this point.

“The candidates will be announced in Melaka on Oct 24. The important thing for us is to ensure our preparation is solid,” she said after opening the southern zone Malaysia International Franchise Exhibition.

Fuziah added that Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to reveal the candidates and subsequently launch the coalition’s election machinery.

Asked whether Pakatan would cooperate with other coalitions or parties in the state polls, she said no such cooperation was planned.

“There is no official understanding. But if they want to help, we welcome them,” she said.
