Man believed electrocuted in alleged cable theft


SHAH ALAM: A man in his 40s died after being electrocuted while allegedly attempting to steal cables from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) in Kapar, Klang.

North Klang district police chief Asst Comm Ramsay Embol said the body was found by members of the public before police personnel were deployed to the scene yesterday morning.

“Investigations found that the victim was believed to have been electrocuted while committing the offence of stealing cables, with his body and hands still attached to the TNB cables.

“Cable-cutting equipment, a padlock and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the victim were also found at the scene. The victim’s family has identified the deceased,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Ramsay said the case was classified as sudden death, while the body was sent to Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam for a post-mortem, Bernama reported.
