Man electrocuted while attempting to steal power cables in Klang


SHAH ALAM: A man in his 40s has been electrocuted while attempting to steal Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) cables in Kapar, Klang, near here.

Klang Utara police chief Asst Comm Ramsay Embol said the Malaysian man's body was found by the public before police were deployed to the scene.

"The victim is believed to have been electrocuted while stealing cables, with his body and hands still attached to the cables.

"Cable-cutting equipment, a padlock and the victim's motorcycle were also found at the scene. The victim's family has identified the deceased," he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 4).

Ramsay said the case was classified as sudden death and the body was sent to Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam for a post-mortem examination.

"Anyone with information on the case can contact investigating officer Sergeant Major Azhar at 012-349 5921 to assist in the investigation," he said. – Bernama
