Woman nabbed after allegedly stabbing mum


KAMPAR: A woman was found dead, believed to have been stabbed by her daughter in an incident at Taman Wang in Menglembu.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the 70-year-old victim was found with a stab wound to her chest.

She was believed to have been killed by her daughter, aged 49, who has a history of mental health treatment.

Police received a report from the victim’s son-in-law at about 7pm on Sunday.

“Her mother, who was bedridden and required intensive care, had just been brought home from an old folks’ home and was being cared for by her daughter and son-in-law. The daughter also has a history of psychiatric treatment.

“We have detained the suspect, who will be remanded until Oct 4 to assist investigations under the Penal Code,” he said.

Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident.
