KUALA LUMPUR: A man wielding a parang has seriously injured a worker at a used car dealership on Jalan Kuda Emas here.
Cheras deputy OCPD Supt Lim Chun How said the 54-year-old victim was slashed by an unidentified individual at about 6.30am on Monday (Sept 28).
"The victim suffered serious injuries to his head and several other parts of his body," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 29).
Supt Lim said police received a report on the incident at 8.52am the same day.
"The victim is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) and is in semi-critical condition," he said.
He said initial investigations found that the incident was linked to the suspect's attempt to steal a vehicle battery.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
