ALOR GAJAH: Two men were found dead in separate locations in the district within half an hour of each other on Sunday (Sept 27), with police ruling out foul play in both cases.
Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar said police discovered the first victim, a 57-year-old man from Simpang Ampat, at about 11.30am in an abandoned shophouse unit in Cherana Putih, Taboh Naning, here.
He said a member of the public patrolling the area found the body.
"Based on initial observations, the victim is believed to have died about two days before he was found," he said.
Supt Ahmad said a preliminary examination found no signs of foul play, adding that the victim was believed to have been staying in the area without his family’s knowledge.
In the second incident at about noon, a 38-year-old factory worker was found dead in his rented apartment in Simpang Ampat here.
Supt Ahmad said the man, who lived alone, was found by his fiancée after she checked on him when he failed to answer her telephone calls on Saturday night.
"She gained entry through a window and found him unresponsive inside the unit before calling for an ambulance," he said.
Supt Ahmad said police found no evidence of forced entry or criminal elements in either incident and have classified both cases as Sudden Death Reports.
