PETALING JAYA: A man lodged a police report saying he was assaulted by three others after his car hit several parked vehicles near an apartment complex in Jalan Lembah Jaya, Taman Dagang Permai, in Ampang Jaya on Saturday (Sept 26).
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid said the incident occurred at about 7am when the man was sending a woman friend home.
"Earlier, the complainant picked up the woman at her home to go hiking at Bukit Melati in Nilai.
"He then sent the woman back to her home at the apartment," he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 27).
ACP Khairul Anuar said that the complainant was approached by three unidentified men at the apartment complex.
"One of the men knocked on the driver’s side window and asked the complainant to get out of the vehicle.
"Fearing for his safety, the complainant sped off before crashing into several cars parked along the roadside," he said.
He said the complainant was then followed before being stopped and allegedly assaulted by the three men.
"The case is being investigated under Sections 427 (committing mischief resulting in damage) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Penal Code," he added.
