IPOH: Police arrested a 29-year-old man who tried to evade a roadblock, crashed into a traffic policeman and drove against traffic at Jalan Kuala Kangsar here.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the individual, who works at a car wash, was arrested after crashing his car near a traffic light junction near Taman Wing Onn on Thursday (Sept 24) morning.

"During a roadblock at Jalan Silibin at about 9.45am, the individual was ordered to stop his car but he sped away.
"Three traffic policemen then tailed him on motorcycles until the traffic light junction in front of the Perak Darul Ridzuan building (on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab) where he made a sudden U-turn," he said in a statement.
"At that moment, he crashed into one of the three policemen before speeding towards Jalan Kuala Kangsar," he added.
It was reported earlier that the man had went over a middle divider and drove against traffic before crashing his white sedan car near a traffic light junction at Jalan Kuala Kangsar.
A 17-second clip of the incident was uploaded on Threads and has gone viral.
ACP Muhammad Najib said the driver did not have a driving licence and the road tax of the vehicle has expired.
"The individual also tested positive for methamphetamine," he said, adding that the investigations, under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act, is ongoing.
ACP Muhammad Najib also said the injured policeman suffered a broken left arm and right leg.
"He is being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital," he said.
"The people are advised to adhere to instructions of policemen on duty and not do anything that would endanger themselves, enforcement officers and other motorists," he added.
