KUALA LUMPUR: Public servants who came forward to report the giving or receiving of bribes have received RM1.18mil in rewards since 2012, with 652 being recognised for helping expose the crime.
Police officers made up the largest group with 437 nominees, followed by the Immigration Department with 64, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency with 33, and the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry with 21.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman (pic) said 529 recipients received monetary rewards and certificates, while the remaining 123 received certificates of appreciation.
“This recognition is not only a symbol of appreciation for the integrity of public servants but also serves to encourage other public servants to follow their example,” he said after chairing the 15th Recognition Evaluation Panel Meeting for Public Servants Reporting Bribe Offers or Acceptance, Series One of 2026, at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya on Tuesday.
The 2026 evaluation saw 54 nominees from four agencies: 38 police personnel, 12 from Iskandar Puteri City Council, three from Kuala Lumpur City Hall and one from the Immigration Department.
