PETALING JAYA: Thirteen areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 10am today, with IPD Serian and Seri Aman recording the highest readings of 182 and 180, respectively.
According to data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System portal, other areas that recorded unhealthy readings included Kuching (176), Sibu (170), Samarahan (170, Bintulu (169), and Sarikei (169)
Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Mukah (161), Miri (160), Samalaju (160), ILP Miri (157), Limbang (152) and Kapit (122).
46 other areas nationwide recorded moderate readings, while eight areas recorded good readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are hazardous.
