MORE than 650 Tamil school pupils and teachers demonstrated their technical capabilities at the National-Level ICT Competition 2026, competing in graphic design, programming, website development and animation.
Held at Multimedia University (MMU) in Cyberjaya, the event was co-organised by the Kuala Klang Hindu Youth Association and the Tamil Technology Association Malaysia, with backing from the Digital Ministry, MMU and the Malaysian Tamil School Headmasters Association.
Organising committee chairman Gunasekaran Kandasamy said the event aims to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban schools across Tamil vernacular institutions, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Niralya Shree and Varnika Novalan from SJK (T) Saraswathy in Sungai Petani, Kedah, clinched top honours in graphic design and website design respectively.
Eeshwar Kumaran of SJK (T) Sungai Buloh, Selangor, won the programming category, while Keethan Ananthan from SJK (T) Taman Tun Aminah, Johor, won the 2D animation title.
Francesco Peoh from Selangor’s SJK (T) Ladang Emerald emerged champion in the IT quiz segment.
