KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional plans to launch the “Blue Malaysia Agenda” (Agenda Malaysia Biru) to chart the nation’s long-term future leading up to the 100th anniversary of Merdeka, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Speaking during his presidential policy speech at the 2026 Umno General Assembly on Friday (Sept 11), the Barisan chairman explained that the new initiative expands beyond the party’s traditional "Blue Wave" (Gelombang Biru) campaign.
"If entrusted with the mandate to lead Putrajaya once again, Umno and Barisan, alongside our coalition partners, will set out the 'Blue Malaysia Agenda' as we approach our nation's centenary," said Ahmad Zahid, who is also Deputy Prime Minister.
He outlined the framework as a vision for a sovereign, united, and high-income nation driven by economic innovation, global prestige, and equitable prosperity.
"It is not merely about the 'Blue Wave'. It represents a Malaysia that is sovereign and united, innovative, and capable of becoming a high-income nation where the people prosper and enjoy greater equity," he added.
Ahmad Zahid noted that full details of the comprehensive agenda will be unveiled in due course.
