KUALA LUMPUR: The allowance for the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) is being reviewed following concerns of healthcare workers, says the Health Ministry.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (pic) said a proposal on the allowances had been tabled to the relevant authorities in November.
This was among the aspects of staff welfare that the ministry is paying attention to, he told a press conference here on Wednesday (Sept 9).
Dzulkefly said he understood the concerns raised by healthcare workers over the RM30 allowance for FDS personnel.
"Among the proposals we put forward is on the allowance for the Flying Doctor Service, which we submitted... in November 2025.
"We are confident that we will receive a positive response from the relevant authorities," he added.
The concerns were raised following the fatal helicopter crash involving FDS personnel in Sarawak on Tuesday (Sept 8).
