PETALING JAYA: Parliament should be dissolved to allow Malaysians to give a fresh mandate to a new administration, says PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
He claimed that the Madani government was in turmoil, with Pakatan Harapan parties openly criticising Barisan Nasional despite being partners in the administration.
"For stability, dissolve Parliament and give the mandate back to the people to make a new choice," he said at a press conference in Kota Bharu on Friday (Sept 4), held in conjunction with PAS' 75th anniversary celebrations and its 72nd annual muktamar in Pengkalan Chepam, reported Sinar Harian.
Tuan Ibrahim claimed the current Federal government administration was formed out of circumstances following the last general election rather than voters choosing a single coalition to govern.
"The coalition was not what the people chose, but one formed because circumstances required a combination to establish the Federal government," he said.
He also criticised what he described as attacks on Umno by its partners in the unity government, including PKR and DAP, saying such exchanges were unhealthy for political cooperation.
"In political cooperation, we usually respect one another and the actions of component parties, including PKR and DAP, are making Umno and its members uncomfortable," he said.
